Turnaround

Title: turnaround. Why? When I came to Christ, I had to make a turnaround in my life. I am in the midst of a turnaround church, and Christ is still at work turning me around to following Him more closely.

Church and Change

These are some quotes from a pastor I have great respect for, Bill Johnson, who is in Redding, CA:

The Church is often guilty of avoiding creativity because it requires change. Resistance to change is resistance to the nature of God.

Religion is not only boring it is cruel. It takes the breath out of every good thing. True holiness is refreshingly good.

My Valentine

Eighteen years ago I gave Traci an engagement ring, the second best decision I ever made (accepting Jesus is obviously first!). I have always said I got the best Michigan had to offer, then moved away. She has strength, character, wisdom and class like no one else. Traci defines what a Godly woman truly is. Happy Valentine's Day, love of my life!!

Change quotes

Here are some additional change quotes to think about.

People often look on change with a sense of anxiety and fear. They want thing to stay the way they are, or they try to recapture the good old days.

Change your environment before it becomes boring. --Ulrich Diedemayer

Facing the Giants

We saw one of the most inspirational movies the other night. You have to see this movie, whether you like football or not. Traci, my wife, doesn't like football, and she even liked the movie. It is clean, encouraging, and spiritual without being preachy. I'm even thinking of having my staff watch it for one of our meetings! What encouraged me the most was the never give up attitude, and realizing that often when we do give up, it is so close to our breakthrough. The coach was on the verge of giving up when someone gave him a "word" from the Lord. That word of encouragement was what he needed to keep going. That's when the movie really picks up. Anyone who needs encouragement needs to see this movie.
In the words of Churchill, "never, never, never give up."
