Turnaround

Title: turnaround. Why? When I came to Christ, I had to make a turnaround in my life. I am in the midst of a turnaround church, and Christ is still at work turning me around to following Him more closely.

Another Christmas observation

The day after Christmas I was going to work out at 24 hour fitness. I walked and began to talk to the front desk person and ask about her Christmas. She asked how mine was, to which I replied, "wonderful!!" She said, "that's great, because you're the first person to tell me that." She went on to say that the others she's talked with all had something negative to say about Christmas.

I'm shocked! I know that some struggle at Christmas, and there are always the "bah-humbug" group, but are there that many who do not like Christmas?

Christmas observations

Merry Christmas! I love this time of year, and this year has been especially enjoyable. There is an observation of the music I've heard over the past month. In the LA area, there are two (that I know of) radio stations that play Christmas music from Thanksgiving through Christmas. I really like all the music, old and new, so I listen often. Here is what I've noticed: almost everyone in the music industry has a Christmas CD, and many I would never associate with Christmas or anything that has to do with Jesus. Yet, many of them not only have Christmas CD's, but sing some of the great carols that have to do with Jesus. Amazing. Here are a few:

Jethro Tull? Somehow I would have never guessed. And Rick Springfield? Is he that desperate to put out a CD? Patti La Belle I could understand. Even Ringo Starr, Twisted Sister and Bare Naked Ladies had Christmas CD's. Strange but true.

Josh Groban I put in there, not because that surprised me, but because I'm surprised at how popular it is. Everyone is playing his stuff, and his stuff is good!

What Christmas CD surprised you? Or better yet, which weird one did you get and listen to?

Church of the Week

Check out the KKLA web site. Our church, (CrossRoad) received the honor of being the “Church of the Week”. Click on “church of the week” under “Quick Links” in the middle section and you’ll see a picture of the church, Sunday service and me with the representative from KKLA. I got to be interviewed by Frank Pastore on Monday during his show. He is a great interviewer, I felt very comfortable talking with him.

I'm very proud of this church and what is going on. So many have stepped up to take leadership positions in vital areas of ministry in the last two months. The presence of God is more powerful than I've felt in some time, and others are saying the same thing. There is great anticipation for the future and what God will do. The honor of "Church of the Week" really signifies what is happening. God is good.
